My Blessings

Trip HOME!

We survived 5 states in 6 days, with 4 kids and one really packed van!

This trip home was a special event…Ashley’s first trip to AR and MS and her first night away from home. She did SOO good…she slept awesome and carried on like she’d been there before…couldn’t ask for much more!

We loaded up and headed to MS for the night and then went over to AR to my mom’s house for 4 days. My mom (aka “Nammy”), had a get together so all our LR friends could meet Ash and see the rest of us…it was SO fun! Other highlights of the LR leg were meeting my “bloggy friend” Jill, watching Annalyse “move it move it”, introducing Ash to my brother, and sleeping in a little because my MOM got up with the girls :)

When we headed to MS, we had fun playing baseball with Pop, introducing Ashley to Jay’s sister and her family, visiting with Oxford friends, and eating at a Japanese Steak House. Ashley seemed a little nervous at the restaurant, wanting me to hold her and saying, “mama mama” over and over…she saw lots of Asian people so that was kinda strange…not sure what was really going on in her head….Jay said it was because the Japanese and Chinese don’t like each other…:) Please excuse my smart mouth  hilarious, husband!

The dreaded L O N G trip home was just that…dreaded. The kids are tired, the adults are tired, the van was WAY over packed, and we had a 9 hour drive ahead of us. About 7 hours in this mama, the children, daddy, EVERYONE was about to have a breakdown, so we stopped at Olive Garden for a much needed break! We NEVER do that…always grab something quick….but it was just what we needed and hit the spot. After our little spaghetti break, the younger girls slept the rest of the way and the older ones watched a movie. Peace.

Blogger is getting on my last nerve, so pics are in the next post…. here are the general idea of them….

1. Meeting Cousin Tyler

2. Tea Party in Nammy’s backyard

3.Ash and Nammy

4. MORE tea parties

5. Nammy and girls

6. Stephen and Ashley sharing a snack

7. Playing with Emily and Hudson

8. Playing ball with POP (with daddy, Avery and Lysse in the outfield)

9. Nana and pop with their girls!

Avery’s Heart

Avery is my “journal girl.” She gets absolutely giddy over a new notebook or note pad. She writes notes to friends and doodles for hours. This week she got a new one and asked me to help her spell something. She handed it to me and this is what it said:

Dear God,

I love you and you love me. I love Jesus and I love you, God. I love this verse:

for God so loved the world that he gave His son so that everyone that believes in Him should not perush but have eternal life. John 3:16

We are so proud of you, Avery Kate! I know one day you’ll be writing about boys in these journals, but I pray your first love is always Jesus!!!

My Ally Girl

I have to tell a funny on my Ally girl….

Last Saturday at Avery’s soccer game, she was helping out at the concession stand, taking the money, and such.

A woman came up and handed her .50 for some M&M’s…..this was her response….

You could buy some M&M’s with your money…or you could save it and buy a baby like we did!”
