Chinese New Year 2010

rainboots 079

On Friday, we had the privledge of hosting the area families that have children from China. Although we see each other out around town often, we’ve never ALL gotten together for fellowship. Although it was snowing and the weather was terrible, we ended up with almost 50 people total!! Here are some interesting things about this group:

4 of the 6 families had 3 bio. children, then adopted the fourth from China.

3 of these cuties (Ashley, Katie Mei and Kaylie) all have the SAME Gotcha Day…Jan12, 2009. We were all in China at the same time and got them the same day!

There are just 2 boys in the group!

There are 3 families currently at various stages of adopting another child (or their first child from China) Two of these are adopting boys so next year, we’ll have 4 boys!

All these families love the Lord and know that this was a calling on their lives.

All of the moms and dads know that we have been blessed beyond our measure. Just look at all these beautiful kiddos!!

SNOW!!!!

Yesterday, our kids got to see REAL snow for the very first time! The last time it snowed where we live was 1974..i wasn’t even born :)

Avery was ESPECIALLY excited as she has begged for snow for many years. Just to be able to play outside with her and her build a snowman with her daddy was priceless! The other three were happy, but only lasted about 15 minutes….when you live in the deep south, you just don’t have the equipment for snow! We don’t even own gloves! And as you can see….Avery is wearing my coat because her heaviest coat just wouldn’t cut it.

We’ll always remember this day…and if history repeats itself…it will be 3 decades before we see it here again!

Rain Rain Go Away!

Today is literally poured ALL DAY! I decided to break out the boots and raincoats that Nammy gave the girls and put my new lens to practice. Afterwards, they colored on this large piece of butcher paper for about 2 hours! Cheap fun :)

We are sure ready for spring around here!
