One year ago today we held our daughter for the first time. What a year it has been! She has gone from a scared, nervous baby to a loving, confident 2.5 year old. We can't imagine our lives without her and it seems as if she has always been here! Someone recently asked me "what percent would you give her for adjustment?" At this point, I'd give her about 80%, which for being home just a year, is pretty good! She loves, loves, loves going to church and runs right in to her class. She knows we'll come get her and she's so proud of her artwork she makes :) In new situations, we keep her close but she's very friendly and looks people in the eyes when she speaks to them. She is a chatterbox!! She speaks in full sentences and sings every song on KLOVE...she says, "turn it UP!!"
Today we took pictures in her "Gotcha" clothing that they brought her to us in...they were about 5 sizes too big when we got her so we'll probably be able to take these pictures every year till she's 5! We'll have a family celebration in Thursday night so check back for pics!
What a difference a year makes!!!

We got up before the sun to begin our journey to China. We had an early flight from Atl to Chicago and then had about 4 hours to rest before we got on the BIG flight to China. I’ll never ever forget watching the sun come up over Russia at 10pm our time. I remember God whispering to me, “I AM HERE.” I was so nervous about being away from by 2 kids at home, and the journey we were about to begin. That night on the plane, the Lord reminded me that I could go nowhere where He was not. That was a promise I held onto throughout our trip…even in a very dark country, God was with us, AND He was with our children back home.
Over the next few days, I’ll look back on that trip….Join me!!
